“A Thief Dines Out, Hoping Later to Eat In”

 Intro

o The language affects the readers’ opinion of Mashes by questions if prison is a negative life style.

o The language affects the reader’s opinion of his “criminal ways” by questioning if committing a crime is

always has a negative connotation.

 1st Body

o Mashes life without prison is miserable; he’s homeless, poor, and most important alone. With prison

comes a stable life.

o Mashes goal to live in prison proves him witty and in a way outsmarting the system by wasting away the

peoples tax dollars on his free ride on life.

 2nd Body

o The author questions if committing crime may become a reward. Mashes willingness to commit the

same crime over and over rewards him with life in prison, which is the life Mashes desires.

o Once again Mashes outwits the system by not only committing a crime but being rewarded with a free

meal, as much as a 100$, and returning to his home.

 Conclusion

o Mashes life style, although a bit gutsy creates a constant place to eat and sleep. His awareness and

acceptance of prison has truly obsessed him with the life style and stability is bestows.
