8th Grade to 9th Grade Transition
Date: April 2011

RE: 8th grade students & families

Brief Summary:

Beginning the first week of April, students and families have begun the
discussion of transitioning to high school. For all 8th grade students, no
matter where the student is planning to attend high school, we ask that
a course selection form is filled out. The course selection sheets help
the school district plan for every possible scheduling scenario. For the
parents of special education students, transition meetings are currently
being conducted in order to provide a smooth transition to high school.
For all students, the guidance staff is meeting with 8th grade students
during P.E. classes to discuss course selection. We have outlined some
of this process for you as well. Please read the information posted on
our school website and contact any of us if you have further questions.
Thanks you for your patience and cooperation during this important
transition.
