How did you

attract/address
your audience?
Language
As the target audience consists of males and females aged between 17 and 25,
the language is required to be in a suitable mode of address.

By using words such as, “hip”, the magazine appeals to people of a younger
generation who have a keen interest in music.

The magazine features a competition on the contents...

...This demonstrates that “Live!” particularly targets enthusiastic music

lovers of the indie/rock genre. The emphasis of the competition
reinforces the attraction of the target audience.
Colour Scheme
“Live!” magazine caters for
both males and females
between 17 & 25, therefore it
was necessary that the colour
scheme was pitched at both
sexes.
Although the colour blue is
widely accepted as a male
colour, I coupled it with a shade
of orange to remove all of the
male connotations,
consequently appealing to
females too.
The graffiti background of the
front cover includes a purple
colour too, providing feminine
connotations.
Young Audience

“10 Best: Indie Nights” appeals to a certain type of

person, particularly a younger audience which is the
demographic for “Live!” magazine. Generally, younger
people would often enjoy festivals and live gigs,
therefore the pictures featured in the contents displaying
artists live, confirm that this magazine appeals to a
younger audience.
