ECO-HOUSING IN UK

Eco housing or house built in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, use
resources and technology and also think about environment. United Kingdom have project of eco-
village, which consist of 45 ecologically-built buildings. They have developed a unique construction
system that is energy efficient and environmentally sound. It is a wonderful place and well worth a visit.
It makes me fell jealous because my country can’t make large building but also think about our
environment. I hope someday Indonesia will make a project like UK.

A second public housing eco-project is the Slateford Green estate, in Edinburg. The project is
consisting of 120 homes. It consist a car free estate, a large garden with environment friendly reed beds.
The reed beds filter the quality of surface and storm water. This artificial wetland area has been planted
with native, low maintenance species, chosen to encourage wildlife. Some of the features in the houses
include insulation from recycled newspapers, photovoltaic, a recyclable aluminum roof, and a breathing
wall membrane, layered upon an engineered timber structure.

But from the example of eco-building in United Kingdom above, there are many countries which
make their building developments over level. They don’t think about environment. They just think their
building for their advantages. They will do everything for build their countries; even they must damage
their nature and burnt the forest. Whereas, environment is very important for us, So, I hope that all of
government in this world will start to stop their unfriendly method to build their country.

The ways for building developments and nature can exist is start to built and start to plant. If we
do these works together we can make an area with a good building development and a beauty nature
too. Like in United Kingdom which build a large housing and plant a large garden too near there. So, it
will balance the environment. Remember it “let’s start to build and start to plant”

I have some idea for government who still damage the nature for building. First, the government
must make a project to divide their area, first for building and second for nature. But, it must balance
each other. Second, the government must make a ruler about building development and nature for the
citizens. Thirdly, the government must protect their area and if necessary the government makes a
special group to attend the area.
