SECTION A

Answer the following question in a 2 – 4 page essay (NOT an ARG analysis):

Let us assume that a portion of the student fees you pay goes towards supporting broader University
activities, such as sports facilities and cultural events. These activities would therefore be cross-
subsidised, in that all students pay for them, whether they participate in them or not. If you are a
student who does not participate in these activities, do you nevertheless still get some return on this
investment, or is it instead an unfair “tax” for which you receive no benefit?

Answer the following question in a 2 – 4 page essay (NOT an ARG analysis):

Consider the following statement made by Arie de Geus in his book, The Living Company:

"The only sustainable competitive advantage is the ability to learn faster than the competition."

In light of Globalization and the changes brought on by new technologies, how could an evidence-
based approach enhance your ability to learn and make optimal decisions?
