Having successfully braced the economic slowdown in 2009, GIM was prepared as
always to take on any challenge of the 2010 placement season. This preparedness
coupled with a reviving market enabled GIM to witness an excellent placement season
in 2010, with the statistics showing an upward trend. Not only did the number of
interested recruiters increase, but the array of sectors and profiles also widened. This
only reflected the industry’s belief that GIM students are competent enough to
contribute valuably to any organization that they are a part of.

FINAL PLACEMENTS

A total of 118 offers were made to 112 students. The highest salary offered was Rs.
12.23 lacs p.a., and the average salary offered was Rs. 7.11 lacs p.a. A number of
students received Pre Placement Offers from organisations such as Johnson & Johnson
Medical India, HP DSAS, Tata Capital, Wipro Consulting, Genpact, eClerx Services Ltd.,
Sampling Research etc.

The number of companies that showed an interest in recruiting candidates increased by

32% over the previous year, encompassing various sectors such as BFSI, IT & ITES,
Consulting, Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Automobiles & Manufacturing, FMCG,
Telecom, Market Research, Education, Retail and Hospitality.

Hospitality.

Some of the key recruiters from these sectors were Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson Medical
India, Genpact, HP DSAS, CRISIL, HSBC Professional Services Limited, Citibank, Infosys
Technologies Ltd., Vodafone Essar, Wipro Technologies, JPMorgan Chase, Wipro

The diversity in this placement season was evident in the types of profiles and areas
offered as well. These ranged from Consultants, Business Analysts, Credit Analysts,
Investment Banking, Private Equity, Professional Education and Market Research to
name a few.

Our Alumni base, which has grown and strengthened over the years, extended their full
fledged support throughout the year. They were involved right from conducting

SUMMER INTERNSHIP

The quality & potential of GIM’s students has been widely recognized by industry &
academicians alike. The batch of 2009-11 too lived up to these high standards.

Our students have done a variety of projects during the course of their summer
internships, some of which have already been implemented & others are expected to see
the light of day shortly. Not surprisingly, our students have received immense
appreciation for their commitment and quality of work done during the internships.

The gamut of profiles offered for summer internship spanned across various streams
such as Market Research, Business Development, HR, Finance, Operations, Industry
Analysis etc. It was a pleasure to welcome several first-time recruiters to our campus.
Some major recruiters were Johnson & Johnson Medical India, Wipro Group, Wipro
Consumer Care and Lighting Group, Tata Capital, Novartis Healthcare Private Limited,
eClerx Services Ltd., IFMR Trust, HP DSAS, Reserve Bank of India, Eveready Industries

Their interest stoked by their summer internship stints, and given the exciting and
varied profiles for final placements on offer, the current batch of students at GIM is
eagerly awaiting their chance to make a mark in the corporate world.
