Electricity Unit Research Assignment

Either in a small group or on your own you will choose one area of Electricity to research and present to
the class. Ms. Jacobson has a list of possible research topics for you to select from. Only one group/individual
per topic!

This assignment is mainly going to be a homework assignment, however you will have a few classes
throughout the course of this unit to research your topic.

You will be expected to create a poster about your research topic (NOT PowerPoint) to use in your
presentation. The poster must have pictures and small paragraphs or jot notes to help explain your research
project. You will be assessed both on the quality of your presentation and the quality of your poster.

You will also need to submit a 1 page “proposal” to Ms. Jacobson that includes a short paragraph
summarizing the information you have found on your topic so far as well as an explanation of 3 sources (one
which is a book) you have used in your research. This will be due at least a few weeks prior to the presentations.

For example:

“One of the resources that I have used in my research is this website,

_________________________________________________________________. I chose it because of
___________________.I found it helpful because of ______________, _______________ and
_______________________.”
