Cardstock:

Whisper White plus Pear

Pizzazz, Pretty In Pink, Perfect
Plum, Baja Breeze

Embossing folders: Petals A

Plenty, Square Lattice,
Manhattan flower

Punch: Scallop Border

Die: Little Leaves

Method:
Attach embossed background to
upper half of White cardstock.

HINT: Apply snail to white card

so you don’t flatten the
embossed pattern.
Sponge edges of White and
coloured card to highlight
pattern.

Squeeze lid of Classic Ink Pad

and use an Aqua Painter to pick
up colour.

Apply between the embossed

ridges of the Manhattan Flower.

Colour select areas leaving some

white highlights.
Colouring the
Image
Start colouring lightly between
the ridges.

Decide where the shadows

would be and colour freely.

Don’t worry if this looks pale as

you can add more colour later.

This helps you to achieve

variation in the colouring.

Be careful not to overwork the

areas or to get them too wet or
you will damage the card
surface.
Continue adding colour until
you are satisfied with the result.

It helps to squint at your artwork

to check there is a nice balance
of colour and white areas.
Enhance the
card edges.
Add definition to your image by
sponging around the edges with
the same colour ink as you used
for painting.

Further enhance and add a little

drama by swiping 3 sides with
the ink pad. This will pick up
some of the embossed ridges and
provide a stronger edge to the
image.
Adhere the
card elements
Use Snail Adhesive along both
sides and the base to adhere the
embossed and water-coloured
image.

Leave the top edge open.

Measure enough 1.6 cm

Grosgrain Ribbon to stretch
across the card, allowing enough
to attach at the back. Adhere
with Snail at back only.

Run Little Leaves through the

Big Shot.

Select White buttons of your

choice. (see recipe for ideas)

Cut 2 pieces of Linen Thread –

one to tie a bow around
grosgrain, the other to thread
through the button.
Attach Little Leaves to ribbon
using a Mini Glue Dot.

HINT: Apply leaves to dot then

place in position on the
Grosgrain.
Tie Linen Thread in a bow
around the stem and ribbon.

Apply glue dot to button, cross

linen thread behind the button
and adhere over the linen thread
bow.
A sample using
Black & Vanilla

I tried this in Black and Vanilla

too. (just for a bit of fun)

The Black ink is a little harder to

control than the Classic Inks, but
I like the end result.

I hope you like my swap and will

have a go at doing one yourself.
They are fun and show a different
aspect of water-colouring with
