Healthy Eating

Exercise and healthy eating often go together. To be healthier a person must have an activate

lifestyle, which includes 30 minutes of vigorous exercise a day, which can make the heart pump.

Watching a person’s daily intake of food is very important. A person’s over-all health plays an

extreme importance in a person overall health. Ensuring a person overall health will achieve a

person’s life expectancy and wellbeing. A healthy diet and physical exercise can help a person

avoid many chronic diseases.

Eating healthy consists of foods which are rich in nutrients and vitamins. A diet rich in

fruits, vegetables, and whole grains will aid in a person physical health. A diet rich in

antioxidants and minerals can help to ward of deadly diseases. Food choices healthy, and

unhealthy are readily available everywhere. In order for a person to maintain a healthy life,

planning out healthy meals and healthy choices are extremely important, although it can be

difficult at times for many families, since we have busy lifestyles. Spending time cooking

healthy meals and being aware of the nutritional value that is consumed can take time. Choosing

healthy meals can be done if a person takes the time to choose which foods are healthy with

nutritional value and beneficial to your health. Choosing vegetables and fruits can be easily done

by the color, which determines the nutritious value found in them. “Green color vegetables are

packed with calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamins, A, C, E, and K they help strengthen our blood

stream and respiratory system”[CITATION Hea09 \p 2 \l 1033 ]. Examples of greens are green

peppers, spinach, and peas. Be creative when making a meal. Choosing fruits for a healthy

snack, packed with vitamins and minerals, which are low in calories with natural sugars. Fruits

such as apples, bananas, blueberries, and cherries are packed with vitamins, A, C, E, and K.

achieving a healthier lifestyle [CITATION Hea09 \p ara.2 \l 1033 ].

Eating healthy is just the beginning for a healthy lifestyle. A person needs to include

exercise in their individual’s daily lives. Incorporating healthy eating and exercise can be

difficult to achieve in a; persons busy lives. Balancing a healthy lifestyle can be achieved by

starting at a gradual pace. Start by incorporating physical activities with a healthy meal and

snack plan. Before starting an exercise and diet plan, a person needs to talk with the doctor.

Exercising has many benefits to improve a person’s body, such as reducing illnesses like high

blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, and low bone density. Exercising can reduce a

person’s anxiety and stress levels. An exercise regimen of 30 minutes a day is good for a

person’s physical and mental health. A person needs to include physical exercise in their daily

routine to improve and maintain their health, and short and long- term life. Simple physical

exercise can include mile brisk walk, cleaning up your car, and a family game of volleyball.

Other activates can be found at The Family Doctor website, such as “take the stairs instead of the

elevator, take walks during coffee breaks, do house work at a fast pace and rake leaves or do

yard work”[ CITATION Fam09 \l 1033 ]. Developing a plan for an individual is possible so they

can stick with a routine on a daily bases. Developing a routine and sharing the plan with a

partner will ensure a person will stick with the plan. However, finding a partner is not always

possible; choosing an activity which is fun will help keep a person motivated. Examples of fun

activities are swimming, playing basketball, walking, or investing in a WII Fit video gaming

system. Choosing any of these activities will help to reaching a healthy goal.

Occasionally a person will make excuses for not wanting to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Some excuses included, is it is too expensive or I do not have the time. Eating healthy does not

have to be expensive; there are many ways to incorporate healthy food in a person’s budget.

Planting a garden or a patio, and growing your own vegetables will not only help the budget but

will have the advantage of not having pesticides on them, also known as organic gardening.

Before going to the grocery store create a shopping list, using knowledge to make nutritious

choices. Stock up on whole grains, fish, chicken, fruits, and vegetables that cannot be grown in

the garden. This creates healthy choices for a family. Do not buy meals in the frozen section,

these are too expensive and are full of preservatives. Creating your own meals from scratch is

less expensive. Fitness Magazine offers budget friendly and delicious recipes for the family, such

as low fat lasagna made with ground turkey, healthy sandwiches and wraps[ CITATION Eas10 \l

daily routine. Maintaining a healthy diet, make wise snack choices, including plenty of fluids,

not skipping meals, and exercising will lead to a healthier life[ CITATION MBG06 \l 1033 ].

Experts have researched the healthy eating, nutritional values, combined with a daily

routine of exercise will improve a person’s overall wellbeing, taking one-step at a time, and

aiming for wise food choices, while focusing on a goal of reaching and maintaining a healthy

lifestyle goes hand-in-hand. Maintaining a moderate plan a person will succeed [ CITATION

Fam09 \l 1033 ].

“Eating a healthy balanced variety of foods is far more satisfying, and if you match that

with more physical activity, you are more likely to get to a healthy weight and stay there-than if

you diet”[ CITATION Eas10 \l 1033 ]. People should make and adapt good nutritional choices

the fast pace of peoples responsibly of families and schedules. The only person that is for these

responsibly of making healthy changes and choices is oneself. Remember chose a healthy meal

and snack that are well balanced with nutrients, also choose physical activities that work well

with a person’s schedule. Focus on developing a balance, staying motivated and be enthusiastic

will help to become a healthier person. Choosing to eat healthy does not mean a person has to

give up taste and their favorite foods. Making the change means understanding which foods are

more nutritious for the body, avoiding foods that are not good for you. Changing the way a

person eats, includes daily activity only means reaching the goal of preventing health risk,

chronic diseases, a speedier recovery from injuries, an increased life expectancy, quality of life a

person can have. This is all about changing behaviors and making it a new way of life without

feeling guilty when a person slips and has their favorite open-faced sandwich smothered in

cheese.
