Phase 1 . Application uninstall (surrender licenses, if applicable) . Remove all monitoring specific to BU . Delete ESM agent . Decom backup . Remove scheduling Phase 2 . Change admin passwords . Sanitize local storage . Network off service for 24 hrs before Phase 3 Phase 3 . Power down server . Remove non-OS disks . Degauss hard-drive for server being disposed . Disconnect all cabling (power, SAN, etc) . Remove from rack . Reclaim NW ports . Place server in staging area (for shipment) . Remove disk allocation from server . Reclaim volume from server (NAS) . Reclaim IP address (host-master) . Delete FQDN record Phase 4 . Update asset central (inventory) . Remove firewall rules . Remove load-balancing
