The Merritt RCMP seized a sawed-
off rifle during the execution of a search
warrant after a man was assaulted in the
2700 block of Clapperton Ave. on Sun-
day evening.
On March 27, RCMP front line officers
attended the 2700 block of Clapperton
Avenue after a 911 call was received al-
leging a man had been assaulted inside
a residence and the suspect was in pos-
session of a sawed-off rifle. Officers sur-
rounded the residence, eventually clear-
nature ing it and taking 6 people into custody.
Next day, the Merritt General Investi-
gation Section executed a search warrant
on the residence and located a sawed-off
phase 1 wraps up

2022 Music In The Park performers
The City of Merritt is now booking
performers for this year's Music in the
Park. FMI contact Recreation Program-
Candidates with a strong customer service orientation
and a keen attention to detail are encouraged to apply.
Duties include providing technology assistance, library
programming, and supporting patrons through refer-
ence and readers’ advisory.
The position is subject to the provisions of the Collec-
tive Agreement with the BC Government and Service
Employees’ Union, Local 705. The Library Assistant
is a grid 9, which pays $24.32 per hour plus 18.2% in
lieu of benefits. There may be additional casual hours
available as a Library Assistant or a Page, which is a
Grid 3 position that pays $17.02 per hour plus 18.2% in
lieu of benefits.
