Do a research through the web and find out about these concepts.

Banner Ads

The web banner is displayed when a web page that references the banner is loaded into a
web browser. This event is known as an "impression". When the viewer clicks on the
banner, the viewer is directed to the website advertised in the banner. This event is known
as a "click through". In many cases, banners are delivered by a central ad server.

Example

Pop-up Ads

op-up ads or pop-ups are a form of online advertising on the World Wide Web intended to
attract web traffic or capture email addresses. Pop-ups are generally new web browser
windows to display advertisements. The pop-up window containing an advertisement is
usually generated by JavaScript, but can be generated by other means as well.

Floating Ads

An ad which moves across the user's screen or floats above the content.

Interstitial Ads
a full-page ad that appears before a user reaches their original destination.

Unicast Ads

Unicast ads have the same branding power as TV commercials and last from 10 to 30
seconds. They appear in a browser pop-up window and offer something that a TV ad does
not: the ability for a viewer to take immediate action and click through to the page that the
ad is linked to. The difference between Unicast ads and other types of Web pop-up ads is
that they play a short, animated advertisement. Due to the branding power of this type of
advertisement, and its relatively high 5 percent click-through rate from viewers, advertisers
are willing to pay more for them.

Takeover Ads

Take over ads usually are comprised of video or images that take over the entire screen to
display the advertisement. Upon closing the ad, the user can return to checking out the
regular content on the site.
Contextual Ads

Advertising on a Web site that is targeted to the specific individual who is visiting the Web
site. A contextual ad system scans the text of a Web site for keywords and returns ads to the
Web page based on what the user is viewing, either through ads placed on the page or pop-
up ads. For example, if the user is viewing a site about sports, and the site uses contextual
advertising, the user might see ads for sports-related companies, such as memorabilia
dealers or ticket sellers.
