Ellen Degeneres, Cesar Milan to join Tender Tails for Fundraising Event
Dog owners and their pets are invited to have fun and give back to the community WASHINGTONLaughter and friendly barks will fill the Cabin John Dog Park in Bethesda, Md., when Tender Tails hosts Pets in the Park Oct. 9. Pet owners from the region are welcome to bring their four-legged friends to the grounds from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. for a day filled with festivities, emceed by comedian Ellen Degeneres. Pets in the Park will highlight the issue of homeless animals in America, featuring guest speaker Sabrina Fang from the Humane Society of the United States. Rescues and shelters from the area will showcase some of the many dogs currently available for adoption at booths located around the park. More than 6 million homeless dogs and cats reside in the U.S., said Humane Society President and CEO Wayne Pacelle. Our organization is excited to work with Tender Tails in bringing awareness to this issue. Degeneres will play the role of auctioneer during the Art for Awareness auction, which will allow patrons to bid on animal-themed artwork. Pet owners can also enter their dogs into contests, taste people-friendly dog treats and browse vendors selling pet accessories. In the evening, Cesar Milan, star of National Geographics Dog Whisperer, will hold a question-andanswer session and give hands-on training tips. All of the funds collected from the festival will be donated to shelters and rescues in the

Tender Tails Event, 2 area, said Tender Tails CEO Amanda Johnson. Our hope is for everyone to have a good time with their pets while raising money to aid those dogs that are in need.
