Network configuration (wireless)

i.

Streamyx connection for home wireless users assigns a dynamic IP address upon successful authentication. Each time a new connection is established, you may get a different IP address [DHCP setting]. Before proceeding with network configuration, please make sure that all your devices have been connected properly (refer to the Connection Diagram). Please ensure that your wireless modem has been configured to Auto Dial. (Streamyx username and password must be configured in the modem).

iii. Make sure you select the correct SSID. The default setting is Streamyx Mobility. If you change SSID in the modem to a different name, please ensure that you connect to SSID with the new name. iv. We strongly recommend that you take steps to help protect your wireless network against unauthorised use by using Network Keys (WEP), Wireless encryption (WEP) or Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). If your computer does not have wireless network support built in, plug your network wireless adapter (if any) into your USB port.

vi. To make a wireless connection, please make sure that the wireless icon is in the lower-right corner of your screen, and click View Available Wireless Networks. Then select your correct SSID and click Connect. Microsoft Windows OS will display the progress as it connects to your network. After youre connected, you can close the Wireless Network Connection window. You can now access the Internet. Note: If the Wireless Network Connection window continues to show Acquiring Network Address, you may have mistyped the encryption key.
