N1 Eduardo Oliver COURSE: 1 3 DATE: May 30th TIME: 7.30 to 9.30 am THEME: Dealing with units of measurement TEACHING ITEMS: units of measurement, numbers up to 1000, the use of dots and comma in English numbers, vocabulary related to cars and tools. AIMS: The students comprehension of similarities and differences in the use of numbers and units of measurement between L1 and L2. ACTIVITIES: reading, checking comprehension, a crossword and some exercises on the students books and folders. RESOURCES: The students textbook, some flashcards, the blackboard, the students folder, photocopies. Introduction (10 minutes) During this first part of the lesson I will introduce myself, getting to know the students, and I will introduce some tips to the students about what we are going to do together and what I expect from them while we are learning together. Warming up activity (15 minutes) The students will work on a word search in which they are going to find out some vocabulary related to tools that they learned in the previous lesson. Pre-listening activity (25 minutes) Using flashcards, the students will match the measurement acronyms and abbreviations with what they stand for and after that they will have to copy them in their folders and write their translation into L1. Listening (25 minutes) The students have to do an activity in their book (page 7).

Written Activity (25 minutes) The students a photocopy in which they have to reinforce what they have dealt with in the previous listening.

Final activity (20 minutes) We are going to write the answers of the previous exercise on the board and make the necessary corrections. Homework Ill ask the students to find out the following link in the internet and download information from this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_numerals Ill remember them that there are useful tools as the Google translator and the Google Chrome browser if they need help. They have to bring the information for next lesson.
