Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Suppose If Initial Wight of filter paper is W1 (before sampling) in grams We sampled this filter paper through RDS APM 460NL Initial Time Totalizer reading is T1 (at the start of sampling) Initial Flow rate is F1 (at the start of sampling) in m3/min

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

We sampled this filter paper through RDS APM 460NL for 8 hour & after sampling we found that: Final Time Totalizer reading is T2 (at the end of sampling) Final Flow rate is F2 (at the endof sampling) in lpm Final weight of filter paper W2 (after sampling) in grams

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Then how to calculate PM10 concentration? 1. First we have to calculate amount of dust 2. Total sampled volume of Air 3. Then we can find Concentration of PM10

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Calculation to calculate amount of dust Total amount of dust collected on filter paper = Final Weight of filter paper W2 Initial weight of filter paper W1 In grams

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Total sampled volume of Air Average flow rate = Initial flow rate F1 + final flow rate F2

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Total sampled volume of Air Total time of sampling =
Final Time Totalizer T2 Initial Time Totalizer T1
In hour

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Total sampled volume of Air To calculate sampling time in mintes = Total time of sampling (In hour) X 60

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

Total sampled volume of Air Sampling time (in mintes) X Average flow rate (m3/min)

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

PM10 Concentration (in grams/m3) = Dust collected on filter paper
Total sampled volume of Air

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

PM10 Concentration (in ug/m3) = PM10 Concentration (in grams/m3) X 106

Calculation of PM10 Concentration

PM10 Concentration (in ug/m3) = (W2-W1) X 106

{(F1+F2)/2} X {(T2-T1) X 60}
