An all points bulletin has been issued for members to be on the lookout for said groundhog, whether he (or she) sees their shador or not.n That reminds us of the report many years qgo of one congregation firing its guns at dusk just as the infesting colony of bats a protecled species took flight.

One newsletter note: 'At the request of the Elders to preserve the dignity of worshlp, please silence your cell-phone and refrain from taking pic{ures." And ldds, no texting but pay attontlon to the service in$ead. Thgt last is from someone n'ho made paper atrplanes on the front row of the balcony during Jay Hughes's sermons. Never had the counsge to sail one, though.

New Philadelphia reminds us: The first (of many, we hopo) Monavian Festival will be Saturday, September 10,2A11, with exhiHts, crafts, music, chlldren's adivities, and food. The goal is to "remind the communities ln whictr we live of Whom we Serve and Who we are.' The festival already has a handsome web site, which you cen vislt for updates at wvyw.monavianfestival.org. This isn't just for one church. lt can be forthe whole Southem Province. Letb mske it big.
Truth to tell, New Philadelphia is a pioneer in the high-tectr age. Already it has installed a 50inch TV screen in its banquet room which can play vldeo, slide shonrs, music, or computer program$, and soon will have a DVD/Blue Ray player (but no TV hoolaup forfootball, drat). Can't hearthe minister? New Philadelphia will help you hear loud and elearwith a wireless transmitterto your indivldual rcceiving unit. (Friedberg has also installed wireless hearing assistance.) All this high-tecfi stuff should be right up our Moravian alley. When Johann Guttenberg's newfangled invention, the printing press, got to Bohemia, other cfiurches had two of them and the Moravian Church ran the otherthree.
