Why was the organization unable to decide?


The company had advertised the vacancy for the post of Regional Sales Manager in the mid January. HR manager gave a late response (2nd Feb) regarding the meeting with senior manager of the company. Again by the end of 2nd week of Feb, they informed about a meeting with GM(marketing) for an interview.

After the meeting with GM, till one month there was no response from the company. Again in 3rd week of April HR called to the head office for the interview.

Then the rigorous interview process started and the results were delayed. The interview process was quite lengthy and even after numerous meetings and interviews the company was unable to decide. Starting from recruitment up to selection took a long time, though the company required 3 candidates. This shows why the organization was unable to decide.

Was the recruitment process itself a farce?


It cannot be clearly said that the recruitment process was farce but there were some issues which indicates the fallacies on the part of the company, like: Identification of the company was not clearly mentioned. Medical test was conducted prior to giving any offer letter.

 The company was not properly communicating information regarding the screening of the applicants for the next procedure.  The company was not following a proper recruitment process, as included language , logic and mathematical skills.

Could the organization be made accountable for the lost time?


The applicant was not forced to apply for the job. It is the decision of the company whether to select or to reject the applicant as per their requirement. So , the applicant cannot question on the recruitment and selection process of any company. They also provide reimbursement to the applicants.

But on the other side it can be said that :  The applicant could have utilized that time in applying elsewhere and getting a secured job.  Going through such a long recruitment and selection process and then being rejected the applicant gets demotivated.  Moreover when he interacted with Arvind and others he found the same thing which shows the organizations negligence.
