Brief introduction:
The OptiX OSN 3500/2500/1500 are NG-SDH products developed by Huawei. Based on an uniformed platform, OSN series product can provide SDH/PDH, Ethernet, ATM, built-in WDM and SAN service transmission solution. With new high integration ASIC chips, full compatibility in hardware and software, special consideration for maintenance, smoothly scalable to ASON (Automatic switch optical network), OSN 3500/2500/1500 will bring sigma significant cost saving for carries' CAPEX and OPEX.

The OSN 3500 is a STM-16/STM64 OED (optical edge device) located in core layer or edge layer with scalability to STM-64 The OSN 2500 is a STM-4/16 OED (optical edge device) located in edge layer The OSN 1500 is a STM-4/16 compact mini-box located in access layer.

Compatibility OptiX OSN 3500/2500/1500 is the NG-SDH family based on an uniformed software/hardware platform, all the software and service cards, such as SDH, PDH, Ethernet card, are fully re-used by each other, minimizing the cost of investment and maintenance for the customer. Unified product series can also shorten the time of network deployment and training

Flexibility With Multi-ADM design flexible for networking. They can be used as a DXC for centralized service grooming and self-heal ring for distributed traffic grooming. They support STM-1/STM-4/STM-16/ STM-64 chain network, ring network, star network, ring with chain, tangent ring, and dual rings. Powerful service accessibility, OSN 3500 provides 504 E1/T1 add/drop in one sub-rack, and 1008 E1 with extended sub-rack. Specially OSN 3500/2500/1500 reserves the resource for ASON design and can be smoothly evolved into intelligent network just by software upgrade.

Data awareness As NG-SDH equipment, OSN 3500/2500/1500 can provide abundant service interfaces for voice and data service, such as SDH, PDH, ATM, Ethernet, DDN, built-in WDM etc. for Ethernet they can provide GE/FE GFP/LAPS encapsulation protocols optional Mapping granularity: VC-12-nv/VC-3-nv, and VC-4-nv for GE Support L2 convergence form FE to FE, FE to GE, GE to GE MPLS and Stackable VLAN for L2 VPN LCAS for bandwidth protection CAR base on 64K granularity 48 aggregation directions for powerful Ethernet convergence transparent transmission, convergence and L2 switch to address diverse customers' requirements via adopting GFP/ LCAS/VCAT and supporting MPLS L2 VPN. It can also provide ESCON/FICON/FC, ATM, WDM, RPR etc.
