Andrea Rogers
March 25, 1929 - June 25, 2023
Andrea Rogers' family is saddened
to announce her passing on the eve-
ning of Sunday June 25th, in Kamloops,
where she'd resided for the past 8 years.
Andrea grew up in the Apeldoorn,
Holland, and lived under Nazi occu-
pation during the Second World War.
In April 1945, Holland was liberated
by Canadian forces, who were greeted
as heroes. That year, at the age of 16,
Andrea met her future husband Norm
Rogers during a chance meeting ­— he a
Canadian soldier, she a local teenager.
After the war, he returned to Cana-
da, but they corresponded for 3 years,

munity as a piano teacher. Later, she
joined the local quilter's guild and
found an outlet for her creative side as
an artist, artisan, and couturière.
One of her most visible contribu-
tions was a quilt which hung in the
2-storey space at City Hall. Andrea
made it in honour of the 50th anniver-

missing fishermen and their boat. The
BC Coroner Service has now taken con-
duct of the investigation.
