This week . . .
Math
In Math we practiced counting by 1, 2s, 5s and 10s! So many fun ways to count! We talked about sorting and making patterns and will work on practicing this more intensely next week. We also celebrated the 30th day of school! (Can you believe it has been 30 days already?!) Zero the Hero dropped off a special project that we added to our Zero journals! Ask your child to tell you about it! We will be adding some new items to our calendar clipboards next week! You might hear some talk about odd and even numbers!

Religion
This week we learned more about Abrahams family! We learned of Jacobs dream at Bethel and learned about Joseph and his special coat! Next week we will learn about Moses, his family and the special jobs God had for Moses!

There is another page!

Language
This week we studied the letter N. We created a word poster with numerous words and wrote nine words in our journals! We also practiced the sounds of the alphabet, along with practicing to identify the letters out of order! Mrs. Mitchell came in and has started working on the alphabet arc with us! We also have been getting very good on identifying the initial sounds of words! We have also been practicing taking our time on all of the work we do, including writing our names! AR has been off to a great start! Most books that you have at home probably have an AR quiz to go with it! After reading a book at least twice, fill out an AR sheet (in your childs folder) and your child can take a quiz!

Check your e-mail for a letter regarding our upcoming word wall! We are looking for all kinds of environmental print to put up!

Handwriting
I haven included an alphabet in your childs homework sleeve. This reminds the children how to properly write the letters of the alphabet, as we do at school with Handwriting Without Tears book.
