    September 28, 2011 Dear City of Bethlehem Employee/ Resident, On behalf of Bethlehem Police Commissioner Jason Schiffer and Deputy Commissioner Craig Finnerty, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about an exciting program the Bethlehem Police Department is offering called Police Exploring. The Department is going into our third year conducting this program and would like to extend an invitation to you to hear and see what exploring is all about. The Bethlehem Police Department will be offering students from the Bethlehem area the opportunity to join other interested teenagers in planning and operating their own Law Enforcement Explorer post, with guidance from qualified adult advisors. Students who are 14 years old and in 9th through 12th grade are eligible to participate in the program. Exploring can be an informative and fun way to help you prepare for the future. Any one interested is invited to attend a first-nighter open house at the City of Bethlehem Police Department located at 10 East Church Street Bethlehem Pa 18018, in Bethlehems Town Hall. The meeting will be on Wednesday, October 12th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. At this meeting you will learn how Law Enforcement Exploring works. As an Explorer, you will learn important skills, such as team building, public speaking, and interviewing. You will also learn how to organize your time to accomplish tasks for school and for extracurricular activities. You are welcome to bring a friend and/or your parents. There is no cost to attend the first-nighter. If you should decide to enroll in the Explorer Post, a $20.00 dollar fee will be required that evening.
