P: Reaserch Paper"

My experiment for The Science Fair was "Does the human tounge have definate areas for certain tastes?". I hypothesized that this is true. I was prompted to do this experiment, because I personally am very fond of food, and there was definatly some eating guaranteed in this experiment. while reserching, I found evidence that stated their is evidence that showes the tounge does have definate areas for certain tastes, which what lead to my hypothesis.

To conduct my experiment, I got a food from each of the five tastes: salty, sweet, spicey, sour, and bitter. I sampled vinigar (bitter), grapefriut (sour), chocolate chips (sweet), salt (salty), and hot sauce (spicey). I recorded all my data in my data notebook, and was suprised by what I recoreded.

Frankly, I was quite dissapointed with my results, which proved my hypothesis wrong! My finding showed that all tastes, minus sweet, occured in the same two areas: the tip and center of my tounge. However, i found that all five tastes where most potient on the tip of the tounge.

In conclution, my findings where quite incorrect. My hypothesis was wrong, and so was the data i found online, according to my experiment. If I were to do this experiment again, I would uses different foods for all five tastes, and see if I got the same results. Bibliography:
