SUNDAY SERVICE

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in Gods likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

1. Compromise is the enemy of godly parenting.

--- Some things can be compromised upon. If your toddler loves green beans, but wont eat broccoli, take what you can get. But when it comes to biblical principles, compromise is not an option for godly parents.

2. God holds parents responsible for their childrens training.

--- Correct your course! Youre headed for disaster! The warning was an effort to get us to do something to change our familys course.

3. Eventually, children are responsible for their own choices

--- No matter what you might hear on national television shows, every problem in our present time is not the problem of our parents! The choices we make carry consequences, and every person is eventually responsible for his or her own choices.

It is better to bite your tongue, than to let it bite someone else.
