6: Sc in each sc around. At the end of this round, sl st in the next st, ch five (for tail) and fasten off.

Head:
1: Ch2, six sc in second ch from hook. 6sc 2-4: Sc in each sc around. 6sc. At the end of round 4, flatten the last round, and sc together with one sc, sl st, fasten off leaving a long tail to sew head to shell. With six strands of black embroidery floss, embroider two french knots for eyes on either side of the head.

Feet: make four

1: Ch3, sc in second ch from hook and next ch, ch1, turn. 2sc 2-3: Sc in each sc across, ch1, turn. 2sc. Fasten off and leave long tail to sew feet to shell. To sew the head and feet to the shell, turn the shell inside out. Sew these pieces to round 5 of the turtle shell by picking up a single stitch on round five (so it won't show on the outside of the shell) and overcast the limbs this way. Look at the pictures to understand what I'm talking about.

Shell Bottom: do not join rounds.

1: Ch2, six sc in second ch from hook. 6sc 2: Two sc in each sc around. 12 sc 3: (Sc in next sc, two sc in next) 18sc. 4: (Sc in next two sc, two sc in next) 24sc. Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew the shell bottom to the top. Sew the shell bottom to the shell top. I used the 'wrong' side of the shell bottom as the side that would show. Stitch the two together through one loop each of the shell bottom and top. When you come to the feet and head, don't stitch through all of these but slide the yarn through a couple stitches on the shell bottom and then resume stitching the bottom to the top. When just about to close the top and bottom, stuff a little fiberfill into the shell to keep its shape.
