0 Activity using Colour Chart


Objective of Silent Way Method: 1. Students will become highly independent and experimental learners. 2. Students will become autonomous learners. 3. Students can develop their critical and creative thinking skill. Objectives of the activity: 1. To learn about syllables 2. To learn about verbs 3. Combining the syllables to form verbs Level and number of students: Primary level (year 1, 2 and 3) About 15 students

Materials needed: 1. A colour chart 2. A syllable chart

Procedure of the activity: 1. A colour chart and also a syllable chart will be put in front of the class. 2. Teacher will ask the students to read the syllable chart. Each syllable has different colour. They have to identify the colours of the syllable. 3. The teacher will point to one of the colour and the students have to pronounce the syllable for that colour. 4. Teacher will point to another colour (another syllable) which will form a verb. The students have to indentify the verb. If the students cannot guess the verb, teacher will make an action concerning the verb. It will make the students easier to guess the verb. 5. Teacher will repeat the same step by forming new verbs.
