Colors and Fruits Lesson Plan

This lesson will focus on learning and applying vocabulary for both colors and fruits.
This lesson is aimed toward elementary school-aged children, specifically fourth or fifth grade as
students will need to be able to communicate and think abstractly when it comes to the paintings.
As a class we will review vocabulary and then apply what we have learned by looking at famous
paintings that include the colors and fruits we learned about. Little to no English will be used in
this lesson with the exception of a few instructions in case they are confused. By looking at
paintings, students will be able to apply what they have learned in a fun and interesting way
through communication.

Level: elementary school – fourth/fifth grade

Lesson Length: 10-15 minutes
Objectives:
 Students will be able to recognize color vocabulary and apply them to items in their
surroundings

 Students will review fruit vocabulary and use it to recognize given fruits during an
activity
 Students will once again look at famous paintings and point out the fruit in them using
the learned vocabulary
