INTRODUCTION
Society can be termed as a group of individuals working together to achieve objectives that cannot be achieved alone. Human societies are characterised by patterns of relationships between individuals sharing distinctive culture.

IMPORTANCE OF SOCIETY
Society plays a significant role in the life of an individual. It influences the behaviour of an individual. A harmonic society fosters growth and development. It brings togetherness among individuals . A society can also negatively impact a person. For instance, a society full of conflicts and differences will affect the growth and downgrade the personality of an individual.

WHAT I SPOKE
I spoke about the importance of society in enhancing the overall growth of an individual and how it influences education. Education has an important role in society. It improves the standarad of living of people. A society can also negatively impact education. Certain cultures, traditions and beliefs in a society prevent wemen and backward classes from getting education. I also spoke about my sub-topic which is post-industrial society.

WHAT OTHERS SPOKE


The other members in my group started with a basic definition of society. They talked about the various forms of society. Surbhi, one of the group members talked about how society includes tradition and culture, influences the behaviour and fosters development Shivani spoke about how society affects the taste and preferences of an individual

POST-INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY
INTRODUCTION A post-industrial society is one in which economic transition has occurred from a manufacturing to a service based economy. This term was coined by US sociologist Daniel Bell in his book The Coming Of PostIndustrial Society. It essentially means transition from production of goods to provision of services.

It started after second world war Key Institutions: Universities, reasearch and cultural institutions Principal resources: Intelligence, knowledge, creativity and information Workplace: Scientific laboratories, urban factories.
