    THE TRUE PROMOTOR OF CS IN BIKANER CITY : A TRIBUTE TO DR. AJAY JOSHI Today is the birthday of Dr.

    Ajay Kumar Joshi and it is important to talk about his contribution to academics in Bikaner. He has done a commendable work. He started MaruVyapar patrika and encouraged young writers to write. I tried to follow him in this tradition and started Bikaner journal of Management in IMS Bikaner and other magazines and newsletters wherever I went. I encouraged everyone to start publications. When I joined the jain PG College Bikaner as principal, the first thing that I thought was to start a journal on commerce. I talked on this issue with Dr. Ajay joshi and he was very positive. We immediately prepared a strategy and applied for permission of the name of the journal and got the approval for two (one in Hindi and one in English). We inducted Ms. Shalini Ari also in the editorial committee. I would have started the journals and Dr. Joshi would have supported me in the task had I remained there. Anyway, I started a newsletter Jain College Newsletter, which could continue for a short period of time only. Dr. Ajay Joshi encouraged the youth to do CS in Bikaner and that is his great contribution. I was able to get the study centre and exam centre of ICSI in Jain College Bikaner due to inspirations from persons like Dr. Ajay Joshi. Dr. Joshi was instrumental in forming CS students association in Bikaner, where I got an opportunity to address

    about 400 students of CS from Bikaner ( I assured all the students that the efforts of Dr. Joshi will not go waste and we will start CS centre in Jain College in the next session). Dr. Joshi had started career guidance centre in Jain College Bikaner. His contributions in this regards are commendable. I do follow him and try to help students as much as possible in career guidance and support These are only memories now, but I would urge all academicians to follow these qualities : - 1. focus on research and publications 2. give proper career guidance to the students SUBMITTED BY :
