1. A Samsung Galaxy 3 (DUH!).

2. The 2.2 Firmware ( click here to download password samIirmware.com).

3. ODIN downloader (click here to download).
4. OPS Iiles (click here to download).
5. A windows PC samsung data cable.
Make sure your device is fully charged!
BE sure to backup all your data!

UPDATE : AFTER BACKUP - FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE BY ENTERING

TO AVOID PROBLEMS

STEP 1
O Download all the Iiles above, and make sure you have the latest version oI KIES
soItware installed.
STEP 2
O Extract the RAR to get a .tar Iile.
STEP 3
O Open ODIN Downloader.
O AKE SURE you select One Package, Auto Reboot and Protect Ops checkboxes.
O Select the Ops Iile (the Iile we downloaded earlier).
O And Iinally select the tar package we extracted Irom the RAR earlier.
NOW CLOSE ODIN.
STEP 4
O ackup you phone and data with the KIES soItware (aIter you are done exit KIES)
O Turn OFF the Galaxy 3 and remove the attery
O Reinsert The attery and Press the Iollowing buttons together
O Home enu Volume Power
(it could be volume up / volume down / volume updown , So, try all three)
O Hold the buttons together till you see the downloading screen should look like pic
below (diIIerent phone)


Step 5
O Now Connect your Phone with your PC using the ORIGINAL DATA cable and wait
Ior windows to Iinish installing the hardware
O Once you get a prompt 'the device is ready to use
O Fire up ODIN DOWNLOADER (make sure the settings are same as beIore) Your
phone will now show up connected in Com Port

STEP 6 (Final Step)
O CLICK START and wait Ior process to Iinish, once done your device will
automatically reboot and will have Android 2.2 running on it.
O Enjoy!
