The IGBC Green Design Competition 11 saw an unprecedented number of entries 318 in all from colleges across India.

. There were many colleges that adopted the current theme as a studio design problem. The enthusiasm this year is probably owing to the familiarity of the theme that takes one Back to School The jury comprised the following eminent members: 1. Dr.Prem C.Jain, Chairman IGBC 2. Prof.Ashok Lal from New Delhi 3. Ar.Soumitro Ghosh from Mathew and Ghosh, Bangalore 4. Mr. C Madhanagopal from Blue Star 5. Ar.Jyothi Ram from CRN Architects Chennai 6. Ar.Vijay Garg, Treasurer, Indian Institute of Architects 7. Mr.Hariharan, Biodiversity Conservation India Limited, Bangalore 8. Ar.Kumaresh, DWAR, Bangalore Jury Comments: The jury was looking for solutions that defined the schools philosophy and integrated the design solution with the same. At the same time, designs that spoke the language of the land and had a strong connect to the site and surroundings were appreciated. Some of the members of the jury felt that while most entries did toy with elements that were green, what was required was a holistic approach to ensure sustainability. Also very few exploited land as a resource and some solutions missed out on taking this point to its logical conclusion. After a lot of deliberations and discussions, the jury selected the following: First Position - Minakshi Mohanta and Amit Joseph Kurien from SPA Delhi Joint Second Position - Anisha Murali and Archna Menon from SAP Chennai Joint Second Position - Lipee Patel and Prachi Joshi from MIT Institute of Design Loni Third Position - Manas Ranjan and Utkarsh Sharma from SPA Bhopal
