The Voki Career Project

Students develop goals, research, and form a presentation based on their desired career.

Objectives:
1. To plan several goals for possible careers 2. To integrate technology into a presentation 3. To research a possible career of interest

Plan:
This project will make you start thinking about your career plans. Now is the time you should be designing your education and career goals. This project is about researching and planning the steps to achieving the career you are seeking.

Research:
You need to research a career that you may wish to pursue. You may look at past research information you have completed or the Internet. Once you have researched your career, you need to answer the following questions. 1. What is your career choice? 2. Based on your personality type, why is this career a good fit for you? 3. What education and/or training requirements are needed for your chosen career? 4. What college major would best suite your career goals? 5. What college or university will you attend and what types of courses will you need to take? (Make sure the college you are thinking about attending has the program you are 6. How long will it take you to finish all of your education/training? 7. What is your expected beginning and end salary? 8. What is the job description?

Assignment:
After you answer these questions, you will create an avatar on the website www.voki.com. The avatar you create will cover the questions above and will tell the class why you chose your career based on the research you have done in class. You will insert your voki avatar on our class wiki.
