Trending technologies/your motivation/goal-- 1st para

1. Which field do you wish to pursue during your MS degree? Also, is there any particular
specialization you are applying for or are intent on pursuing? Mention what
TECHNICAL ASPECTS have motivated you towards the field of your choice for MS.

Ans: I am aspiring for my master's in Mechatronics Engineering. The specialization I am looking

for is Robotics and Automation. Automation has been my motivation since my childhood.
During my childhood, nothing motivated me more than the engineering shows on television.
There were shows about large-scale manufacturing and construction and how complex processes
and problems were solved using automation. From the very beginning, I have had a zest for
robots. I used to watch robot movies and shows and wished I could make one in the future. This
impulse stimulated me to pursue my career in Robotics. Artificial Intelligence also attracted me
during my undergraduate studies when I found out that it is what makes a machine actually
smart. That is when I decided to study further and deeper into the topic "Cognitive Robotics" and
decided to do Masters in the same.

1. What work is currently going-on in this field in the industry that interests you most?
What is your long-term goal (10 years down) and how will a MS program help you to
achieve it.

Ans: In recent years, the robotics industry has constantly been evolving and growing. Robots are
deployed in almost every sector, whether it be manufacturing, healthcare, defense or hospitality.
Extensive research and experimentation are being carried out in the field of robotics. Intelligent
robots and Humanoid robots are of keen interest to me. Robots like Sophia, Spot and Atlas are
my eye-catchers. These robots have influenced me to pursue Robotics. An MS course in robotics
will hone the skills that I learned in my undergraduate and will gain high-level industry skills
that will smooth the path of becoming a good Robotics Engineer.

Academic background and subjects learnt- 2nd para

1. Mention your stream of study/ specialization during undergraduate studies / What was
your motivation to choose this major?

Ans: I did my undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering. The motive being my

childhood fascination for robotics. No other course could have given me much satisfaction as
this course did. There are select colleges in India that provide this course. I even risked my
scholarship for this course.
1. Describe the courses that you enjoyed in your undergrad with the concepts that interested
you. (the ones relevant to your proposed study).

Some of the courses I enjoyed during my undergraduate journey are Mechanical Workshop,
Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, PLC and Data Acquisition,
Manufacturing Processes, Automobile Engineering, CAD-CAM-CIM, Product Design and
Development and Robotics System Design. The concepts that further gripped me to the course
are Additive Manufacturing, 3D designing, AIML algorithms, Robotic Design and Processes,
Process Control and Automation.

1. In a similar fashion, describe your favorite lab courses in your undergrad. / Write about
the high marks or ranks you achieved in your undergrad program. Mention concepts
learnt and applied through projects.

Every lab was my favorite as every time there was something new and fascinating that I was
learning. Physics lab where we used to experiments with light and lasers. Programming lab
where we used to run our codes was nothing less than magic to me.

Projects with technical details- 3rd para

1. Describe the projects that you completed during your undergrad. For each project, discuss
the motivation behind it, the objective, tools/technologies/methodologies used and skills
acquired. Also, specify which year and duration for each of them.
2. Describe your undergrad thesis project (final year project) in detail. Discuss the project's
purpose, objective, execution, skills acquired and learning (problems faced and how you
solved them)
3. Discuss the tools/technologies/methodologies that you used and the skills you acquired
along with any unique/ memorable opportunities or experiences you had. If you won any
appreciation or award, do mention it. Also, specify dates and duration for each of them.
What were the papers you published during your undergrad? Also, write about any
unusual or difficult situation you handled or problem you solved.

Cocurricular-extracurricular work- 5th para

1. Describe your internships, industrial visits, and training during undergrad. Write about
your experiences while training/mentoring others in your college program. Write about
your leadership roles and experiences till date. Discuss if you had won any appreciation
or award.
Work experience- 6th para

1. Write about your work experience. (For each organization that you have worked with,
specify the dates and duration of work and the motivation behind joining the company,
narrate your project experiences, and discuss how the experience has shaped your
development. Also, describe any unique/ special opportunities or experiences you had or
appreciation/ awards you won).
2. How have your career experiences impacted your decision to pursue higher education?

University specific- 7th para

1. Do you have research aspirations or plans for your Master's or post your Master's?
2. Write about the career or life opportunities you would have after pursuing your Master's.
3. Long Term Career Goals - What career milestones do you wish to achieve beyond those
five years? What specific steps do you see yourself taking to achieve them? Also include
specific problems faced by humanity or by marginalized populations that you wish to
solve using your professional strengths.
