THE PROBLEM AND TS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION
Nowadays computer serves as an important role in our society, most especially in
school premises. Most school uses computer to help their students deal in our modern
technology. But as the population of the students continue grow, many schools face
difficulties in handling their enrolment in a manual process, and one of the solutions in this
problem is to make their manual enrollment into a computerized system.
Enrolment serves as a vital part in the life of every student upon entering schools or
universities, either public or in private. t gives students the impression on how the whole
institution manages and handles the entire student body. Good enrolment is always an
asset in a university, pertaining to a fast and accurate transaction. Thus, it fosters a great
degree of information organization and management.
The Proskills Technical Training Center was established on the year 2006. t is one
of the schools in San Fernando Pampanga that offers Vocational and Technical Education.
ts primary purpose was to develop, train and equip the students not only with knowledge
but also skills in turn to produce quality workforce that is highly productive and adaptable to
the newly emerging trends in technology. This school consists of approximately 360
students as a result the assigned employees need to perform their work in an efficient time
with precise information in order to accommodate all the enrollees and other old students.

$TATEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVE

This study aims to find a better solution for the problems encountered in the existing
system of enrollment in Proskills Technical Training Center.
Specifically, it attempts to achieve the following:
O To design a Computerized Enrollment System to replace the school current manual
system along the following areas:
. Registration/Enrollment
. Billing System
O To propose an alternative for the manual system that will reduce the enrollees
waiting time.
O To give an accurate and reliable service to the enrollees
$IGNIFICANCE OF THE $TUDY
The existing enrollment procedures have made students experience the long period
of waiting before being attended by the officer-in-charge of enrollment. As such, enrollees
failed in their pursuit to enroll successfully and such failures dominate the whole process.
The researchers, thus, have come up with solutions to their problem and to design a
Computerized Enrollment System.
The beneficiaries of the proposed system are the following:
O THE ACCOUNTING
The Accountant will benefit from the proposed system because it's easy to
view the accurate amount of payment of every student by putting their
student number.

O THE REGI$TRAR
The Registrar will benefit from the proposed system because the registrar
can enlist students, manage Add/Change/Drop processes in a more effective
manner, and handle shifting of courses by inputting the student number and
performing procedures effectively.
O THE ADMINI$TRATOR
The Administrator will benefit from the proposed system because of the
process in creating subjects, courses and updating the school information will
be done easily in checking the databases and other student information.
O THE ADMI$$ION OFFICER
The Admission officer will benefit from the proposed system because the
process of enlisting new student and transferees will be done faster and
accurate than the manual system.
O THE $TUDENT$
The Students will benefit from the proposed system because the system will
conserve time and effort because most of the work will become
computerized.
$COPE AND DELIMITATION
The study covers the analysis and design of a Computerized Enrollment System for
Proskills Technical Training Center. The proposed system shall be capable of facilitating
the following:
O The Administrator can add subjects, school year, update courses, curriculums, and
the school information.

O The Admission officer can register new students and view enrolled student. The
system auto-generate student number, especially for new student.
O The Registrar can enlist students, Add/Change/Drop/Withdraw a certain Subject,
issue a new grade of a student, view student's information, handle shifting of
courses, credit and update school information.
O The Accountant can view and edit the amount of payments, price per units and
miscellaneous. t can also produce assessment fee report.
DELIMITATION
O The study is delimited only to the Administrator, Admission officer, Registrar and
accountant of Proskills Technical Training Center (PTTC).
O The study does not cover the development of the proposed system.
O The system to be designed in the study is only for the specific use of the Proskills
Technical Training Center Computerized Enrollment System.
O The study covers only the enrollment system. t will not cover the grading system.
DEFINITION OF TERM$
O Accounting
The bookkeeping methods involved in making a financial record of business
transactions and in the preparation of statements concerning the assets, liabilities,
and operating results of a business.
O Administrator
An executive or official of an institution.

O Admission Officer
An admissions officer gives instruction and guides the enrollees on admissions and
reviews applications for universities and other educational institutions.
O Database
t is a collection of data or information that organized to speed up the searching
activity of the users and facilitating the storage, deletion, modification, and retrieval of
data.
