Dept. of the college. The system is a desktop application that can be accessed throughout the
organization. This system can be used as an application for the TPO of the college to manage
the student information with regards to placement. Students logging should be able to upload
their information in the form of a CV& Resume. Visitors/Company representatives logging in
may also access/search any information put up by Students.
1. This project is to facilitate faculty in college to view student profile and placed,
unplaced, trained and untrained students.
2. The users can access the data easily in any time.
3. In the student registration form, we can give personal details and educational
qualification.
4. The teacher and administrator play an important role in our project.
5. The job details of placed, unplaced, trained and untrained students will be provided
by the administrator
1.1 OVERVIEW
This project is aimed at developing and desktop application for the Training and Placement
Department of the College. The system is a web application that can be accessed throughout
the organization with proper login provided. This system can be used as a desktop application
for the Training and Placement Officers (TPO) of the college to manage the student
information with regard to placement. Students logging should be able to upload their
information in the form of a CV& Resume. The key feature of this project is that it is a
onetime registration. Our project provides the facility of maintaining the details of the
students. It also provides a requested list of candidates to recruit the students based on given
query. Administrator logging in may also search any information put up by the students. This
project will aid colleges to practice full IT deployment. This will also help in fast access
procedures in placement related activities.
1. The categories of CVs & Resume are decided and uploaded and define informally. A
server is used for storing the CVs & Resume.
2. The front-page of the system is created giving a brief description about the system and
a login box.
3. Other sub-systems like automatic notification, screens for various events are created.
4. A role of approver is also introduced. When the student uploads his/her CV &
Resume the approver should approve the document and only then can it be upload.
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT
This project is aimed at developing an online application for the Training and Placement
Dept. of the college. The system is an desktop application that can be accessed throughout the

CHAPTER-02
LITERATURE SURVEY
In this section we discuss the different Literature Review and motivational outcomes and this
paper describes the solution for a problem which occurred in existing manual system. The
major problem in existing manual system is searching and updating of the student data. Also
it would be difficult for the training and placement officer to filter the list of the students
based on the criteria of the campus drive. The proposed system includes the processes like
registration, login, update, and searching of the student data. There are mainly two users:
Training and placement officer (TPO) and student. The admin is the master user. Admin has
the more number of priorities than the other users. Students can register and can also view or
edit their academic or personal details. A list of placed students will also be updated by the
administrator.
Existing System
The existing system is doing all the processes manually. This is so tedious and time
consuming. This process is so difficult when the number of users increases. The proposed
system meant to give more easiness to the users that they can add and retrieve information so
quickly. Enhanced system is created in a user-friendly manner with appropriate message
guiding the user; even a person with minicomputer knowledge will be able to use the system
thus making it easier to maintain the details of the student.
Drawbacks Analysis
We are overcoming the difficulty of student details which were manual in the current system
and here we generate detailed information about the students which will save our time to
inform each and every batch and section and student profile is maintained.
During analysis data is collected on the various files. We overcoming in this difficulty are
following as:-
Recognition Of Need
For the purpose of training and placement of the student in colleges, TPO’s have to collect
the information and CV’s of students and manages them manually and arranges them
according to various streams. If any modification is required that is to be also done manually.
So, to reduce the job required to manage CV’s and the information of various recruiters, a
new system is proposed which is processed through computers.
1. In Various colleges, training and placement officers have to manage the CV’s and
documents of students for their training and placement manually.
2. TPO’s have to collect the information of various companies who want to recruit students
and notify students time to time about them.
3. TPO’s have to arrange CV’s of students according to various streams and notify them
according to company requirements.
4. If any modifications or updating are required in CV of any student, it has to search and to
be done it manually.
1. The Job of TPO is a unique task that involves taking into considerations many features
for the same. Existing system has some bottlenecks looked upon by TPO’s and students
of colleges.
2. Size of collection of CV& resume may be very large. To handle such a large collection of
CV & Resume is a great overhead.
3. It is very over heading task to arrange CV& resume according to various streams, match
them with the companies requirement.
4. Students can’t modify their CV& resume themselves and if there is any updating or
modification in CV& resume, they have to inform it to TPO and get it updated.
5. It is a time consuming activity of managing, updating and informing specific student for
specification for specific requirement.
6. It takes a lot of space for storage of CV’s and other information regarding companies.
FEASIBILITY STUDY
The purpose of the feasibility study is not to solve the problem, but to determine the problem
is worth solving. This helps to decide whether to proceed with the problem or not. It involves
the analysis of the problem & collection of all relevant information relating to the product
such as items that would be input to the system, processing required to carried those data, the
output data required to be produced by the system as well the various constraints on the
behaviour of the system.
1) Technical Feasibility
2) Economic Feasibility
3) Operational Feasibility
1. TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY
It is technically feasible to design the project as; the entire modules described in the modules
description can be created using Front-End interaction HTML and back end database oracle.
Advantages of ORACLE
2. ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
The economic feasibility study evaluate the cost software development against the ultimate
income or benefits get from the developed system. There must be scope for profit after the
success completion of the project.
3. OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
Operational feasibility is a measure of how well a proposed system solves the problems, and
takes advantage of the opportunities identified during scope definition and how it satisfies the
requirements identified in the requirements analysis phase of system development.
The operational feasibility of the system can be checked as it solves the problems and reduces
the complications occurring in the paper-pencil test.
1) Technical Feasibility: The system can be implemented using computer Software &
hardware.
Looking at college students, various companies visiting the campus for recruitment and even
the college placement officer. The software system allows the students to create their profiles
and upload all their details including their marks onto the system. The admin can check each
student details and can remove faulty accounts.

TECHNOLOGICAL REVIEW
MYSQL
MySQL is also used by many popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and
YouTube. MySQL was created by a Swedish company, MySQL AB, founded by David
Axmark, Allan Larsson and Michael "Monty" Widenius. Original development of MySQL by
Widenius and Axmark began in 1994. The first version of MySQL appeared on 23 May
1995. It was initially created for personal usage from mSQL based on the low-level language
ISAM, which the creators considered too slow and inflexible. They created a new SQL
interface, while keeping the same API as mSQL. By keeping the API consistent with the
mSQL system, many developers were able to use MySQL instead of the (proprietarily
licensed) MySQL antecedent.
MySQL provides a implementation of a SQL database very well suited for small to medium
web pages. The database is free and open source with a commercial license available
(MySQL is now owned by Oracle after they bought Sun). Common applications for MySQL
include php and java based web applications that require a DB storage backend, e.g.
Dokuwiki, Joomla, xwiki etc. Very many applications that use
MySQL are geared towards the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, php). MySQL is
usually used with 2 different storage engines, one is called MyISAM doesn't support
transactions and stores each table in a set of 3 files. The second is called InnoDB which
supports transactions, this storage engine stores all data in a single set of bytes or uses one set
of bytes per database directory. MySQL has one major advantage, since it is free, it is usually
available on shared hosting packages and can be easily set up in a Linux, Unix or Windows
environment. If a web application requires more than database, requires load balancing or
sharding, it is easy to set up maybe instances of the database requiring only the hardware
costs, as opposed to commercial databases that would require a single license for each
instance.
PHP
PHP code may be executed with a command line interface (CLI), embedded into HTML
code, or it can be used in combination with various web template systems, web content
management systems, and web frameworks. PHP code is usually processed by a PHP
interpreter implemented as a module in a web server or as a Common Gateway Interface
(CGI) executable. The web server combines the results of the interpreted and executed PHP
code, which may be any type of data, including images, with the generated web page. PHP
can be used for many programming tasks outside of the web context, such as standalone
graphical applications and robotic drone control. The standard PHP interpreter, powered by
the Zend Engine, is free software released under the PHP License. PHP has been widely
ported and can be deployed on most web servers on almost every operating system and
platform, free of charge. The PHP language evolved without a written formal specification or
standard until 2014, with the original implementation acting as the de facto standard which
other implementations aimed to follow. Since 2014, work has gone on to create a formal PHP
specification.
