In the lecture, the speaker mentions about the concept with which the core-curri culum came into existence to enlighten students about something that is not in t heir realm of study. The first problem about such core is that there are few co res which are too general or just too relevant and taking it does not have any significance to the purpose with which it is being introduced to students. Secon d problem shows up if the core is too voluminous that robs students of the time and attention they can pay to their own area of study. While yet another problem has been posited which mentions about the practicability of these core curricul um. Only if such curriculum can be implemented in a real situation such as an in ternship, the efiicacy of having such a conceptual plan will bring the desired r esults of advising the students with the knowledge from other important discipli nes can be truely conceived. Despite all these doubts by the speaker about the real impact it can bring, the passgae has shown positive sides of the developmen t. It says that there are directs symptoms like stronger sense of institutional identiy, satisfaction of the faculty members, higher enrollment and imposing imp ression on public. Also it mentions about the students who have had positive exp erience in life with such kind of curriculum. Overall, with few adjustments and rectification, this core curricula could meet its intended goal in true sense an d the students could finally have considerable amount of information on other as pects of the world apart from the in-depth knowledge in the area of their primar y interest.
