Undifferentiated schizophrenia is usually a combination of all symptoms manifested in other forms of schizophrenia which is why it does not fit

under any criteria of the other types of schizophrenia and cannot be identified as any other types. Treatment of schizophrenia includes psychopharmacology and psychosocial approach. On psychopharmacologic approach, patients undergo procedures such as electroconvulsive therapy, insulin shock therapy and psychosurgery. However, since the creation of the chlorpromazine, the medication regimen started and fewer patients undergo such therapies. On the other hand, the psychosocial approach uses the same people to interact through individual and group therapies, family therapy, family education and social skills training. These therapies may help the patient cope up and improve their social competence. Sheila L. Videbeck is the author of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing 2008 pp. 203-204
