Chapter:5 Physical quatities Vector: Vector are those physical quantities which can completely specify by magnitude, direction

and units. For e.g. displacement, velocity , acceleration, torque, weight and force etc. Scalar: Scalars are those physical quantities which can be described completely by magnitude (number) and a unit e.g. distance, speed, time etc. Properties of vector: To represent a vector a straight line is drawn with an arrow head at one end. The length of the line represents the magnitude and arrow head represents the direction of the quantity (vector). Vector are usually represented by bold litters or with letters with an arrow head. Negative vector: A vector whose magnitude is equal to another vector but in opposite in direction is called a negative vector. For e.g. A and its negative vector (-A ) are shown below
