At first, I was interested in how computers changed life as we know it.

But then I realized that the topic was too modern. So I looked at what I was interested in: explosions, guns and medieval times. I thought about it. and did some preliminary research and wanted to do the origins of cannons. But that was too hard to track down so then I did some more research and wanted to do the standardization of cannons in the middle ages. But I ran into problems with that so I changed it to cannons in Europe during the middle ages. For my research I looked on the Internet for any type of secondary sources and I got some online books that were very helpful. Then I went to the Wilson Library at the University of Minnesota and got a couple more books that were helpful. I also went to the Minneapolis Hullabaloo and got more books. Most of the books were very helpful and others were not any help. The books that were helpful helped me understand why cannons were important and some drawbacks that cannons had. The sources that were very helpful were very helpful because I learned some information that was different then I had expected and raised questions. I picked a website because a paper isnt very exciting to me. Everyone does a poster board and I wanted to do something that not everyone was doing. Its hard for me to do documentaries and performance because of my stage fright. So that left websites, and the idea of a website appealed to me. My project connects to the NHD theme of revolution becasue cannons revolutionized warfare. Without cannons, warfare as we know it wouldnt exist because cannons were the first weapons that used gunpowder. They were very important because they effected Europes history in the Hundred Years War and capturing Constantinople. Its important to know about cannons because war is very important in todays world and its important to know how modern warfare was started.
