MBA(Tech.

) Fights back for its Dignity

A day that will never be forgotten..
13th April 2011

It was 6th August 2007 when many young hearts with dreams of a bright future entered the doors of Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (referred as MPSTME onwards). The process of learning though filled with certain obstacles had been a brilliant one owing to faculties experienced in their respective fields and with the Information Technology infrastructure that the college provides. Everything was going smoothly with MPSTME building and nourishing happier and world class professionals until one day when the responsibility of the head Incharge of their flagship programme MBA(Tech.) was given to Mr.R.C Agarwal. A sequence of nuisance and hysteria than began when the head along with the course coordinator Ms.Rashmi Ashar started an era of dictatorship governed by inhuman policies doing unjust to students at every level that can be possibly defined. Since the beginning of 4th year, students have faced innumerable number of issues that extend from unacceptable faculty to internship issues. The college had come to a state of thorough commotion with students getting debarred from exams for errors caused by the management. A lot of attempts were made by the students to get through the hierarchy of administration to get their grievances addressed but all in vein. As the paradigm set by RC and RASHMI Raj became unacceptable with more lives ruined each day, a revolution well initiated and organised challenged the ideas of management, a revolution that began on 13th April 2011 and will be remembered forever.

Flow of events on 13th April, 2011

1.30 pm It all started with a Protest at the Main Gate by about over 100 students who shouted and screamed for their rights. Slogans and Protests did not stop. The cherry on the top was that The VC & Registrar of NMIMS was a witness to this protest. The protest went on and all students revolted against the management in the college as the procession of students went from Gate till 4th floor & again back to the 1st floor. Students did not relent and neither their voices go down. 2.45pm The Registrar was communicated that students would present their issues by certain representatives but in the college itself with the whole MBA TECH as the witness. 3pm The registrar at succumbed to demands made by the students. The Registrar alongwith the DEAN -MPSTME Dr. DJ SHAH addressed MBA Tech at 3.15 pm. After an hour long session with all the grievances being conveyed, it was demanded that the solution to all things needs to be given today and until then the Students of MBA Tech would not vacate the Seminar Hall. 6.30 pm After almost a 2 hour meeting with the VC at NMIMS building, we were addressed again with the solutions provided in the circular attached with this journal. It has been promised by the management that, As soon as Dr. Sunil Rai returns after the leave the other issues of a lesser priority would be addressed immediately.

For, last 8 months all the CR's as well as students of the batch had tried amicably to solve the various problems and issues at hand. Even after repeated attempts most of these issues have either not listened to or delayed or had been simply ignored by management. As things were not being solved in a professional manner, it called for a protest. We would like to end this with a request to the college management (Head Incharge) to be careful while being inhumane and ruining lives as MBA(Tech) is a force driven by unity and those hands that trust you for shaping their future will rise up and stand together in times like this. Thankyou !
