Mobile computing
Mobile computing is a generic term used to refer to a variety of devices that allow people to access data and information from where ever they are. A technology that allows transmission data, via a computer, without having to be to a fixed physical link. Mobile computing can use cell phone connections to make. Display, collect, and transfer information from a mobile device to an information system using one or a combination of various data transfer methods. Data communication technology component Wireless Connection phone calls as well as connecting to the Internet. Portable-computing devices that can connect by cable, telephone wire, wireless transmission, or via any Internet connection to an agency's IT infrastructure and/or data systems. Computing devices, generally designed to remain in a fixed location, that can connect by cable, telephone wire, wireless transmission, or via any Internet connection to an agency's IT infrastructure and/or data systems. For the purpose of interpreting this policy, communication is the requesting, sending, transmitting, or receiving of electronic data via cable, telephone wire, wireless, or other communication facility. In this article we give an overview of existing cellular networks and describe in detail the CDPD technology which allows data communications across these networks. Finally, we look at the applications of Mobile Computing in the real world.
