APPLICATION

INTRODUCTION

The Internet is a global network of billions of

computers and other electronic devices. With the Internet,
it’s possible to access almost any information, communicate
with anyone else in the world, and do much more. You can
do all of this by connecting a computer to the Internet,
which is also called going online.
INTERNET CONCEPT
 In general, an Internet Standard is a specification that is stable and
well-understood, is technically competent, has multiple,
independent, and interoperable implementations with substantial
operational experience, enjoys significant public support, and is
recognizably useful in some or all parts of the Internet

 The Internet is known as “interconnection of computer networks”.

The Internet is a massive network of networks. It connects millions
of computers together globally, forming a network in which any
computer can communicate with any other computer as long as
they are both connected to the Internet.
DIAL UP CONNECTION
 Dial-up is a technology used to connect to the internet using a
standard telephone line. It works by dialing a specific phone number
provided by an internet service provider (ISP) and establishing a
connection through a modem

 A dial-up connection is established when two or more

communication devices use a public switched telephone network
(PSTN) to connect to an Internet service provider (ISP). Many remote
areas depend on Internet dial-up connections because broadband
and cable are rare in remote areas with low population numbers.
INTERNET ACCOUNT
 Internet account means an account created within a
bounded system established by an Internet-based service
that requires a user to input or store access information in
an electronic device in order to view, create, use or edit
the user’s account information, profile, display,
communications or stored data.
HOW TO CREATE AN INTERNET
ACCOUNT
 Go to Settings > Notes > Accounts > Add Account. Do one of the
following: Choose an account provider, then enter your account
information. If your account provider isn’t listed, tap Other, tap
Add Mail Account, enter your email account information, then
turn on Notes for that account.
HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONCEPT

 High-speed Internet is a generic term used for Internet service

that is faster than the average. Traditionally, the way to
determine if a connection is high-speed is to test its ability to
connect multiple devices simultaneously to allow streaming and
access to modern applications.

 Higher productivity. Just because of low-speed internet,

companies can suffer huge productivity losses.
ADVANTAGES OF HAVING A HIGH-SPEED
INTERNET CONNECTION

Better gaming experiences. …
Better online security. …

 Better communication.
BROADBRAND
 Broadband is the transmission of high-quality data of wide
bandwidth. In its simplest form, it is a high-speed Internet
connection that is always on. Broadband connections include Wi-
Fi, DSLs, fiber, and satellites.

 By comparison, your broadband connection is physically plugged

into the router, which then uses Wi-Fi to distribute the signal
virtually to devices in the immediate areas so that they can access
the internet.

 Higher internet speeds allow for faster transmission (uploading and

downloading) of data.
WI-FI
 Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that allows devices
such as computers (laptops and desktops), mobile devices (smart
phones and wearable's), and other equipment (printers and
video cameras) to interface with the Internet.

 Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that uses radio waves

to provide wireless high-speed Internet access. A common
misconception is that the term Wi-Fi is short for “wireless
fidelity,” however Wi-Fi is a trademarked phrase that refers to
IEEE 802.11x standards.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERNET AND

BROADBRAND

 The main difference lies in the speed factor of the two. An internet
broadband connection lets you experience the Internet at a much
higher speed, ranging from 50mbps to several hundred Mbps, which is
missing from any wireless internet we get commercially.

 A broadband is also very safe as it passes privacy configurations

twice, once from the service provider again in the customer’s device.
Whereas the regular internet connection like Wi-Fi, has lesser
security, which is why add-on privacy protocols are required.
ISDN
 ISDN or Integrated Services Digital Network, is a circuit-switched
telephone network system that transmits both data and voice over a
digital line. You can also think of it as a set of communication
standards to transmit data, voice, and signaling. These digital lines
could be copper lines.

 ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network. It’s a set of

communication standards that uses digital transmission to make phone
calls, video calls, transmit data and other network services over the
circuits of the traditional PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).
ADSL

 Asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) is a new modem

technology that converts existing twisted-pair telephone
lines into access paths for high-speed communications of
various sorts. Overview. ADSL can transmit more than 6 Mbps
to a subscriber—enough to provide Internet access, video-on-
demand, and LAN access.
CABLE MODEM

 Network cabling is the physical infrastructure that connects computers

and other devices to a network. It can be installed by your IT
department or an outside contractor, but regardless of who does the
installation, it’s essential to ensure that network cabling is installed
correctly.

 Cable modems are a prevalent type of hardware that connects

computer devices with your ISP. Differing from other types of modems,
a cable modem uses coax cable, the same infrastructure that brings
television programming to our business or homes, to proxy that
connection, rather than a telephone or DSL line.
CABLE INTERNET SERVICE

 In telecommunications, cable internet is a type of broadband

connection that uses cable television infrastructure to provide
homes or buildings with Internet access. It runs through coaxial
cables, the same cables used for your cable TV.

 Cable Internet Service means direct access to the Internet

provided to customers over the Cable Television System and shall
include incidental and or ancillary services provisioned with the
service.
INTRANET
 An intranet is a private network contained within an enterprise that
is used to securely share company information and computing
resources among employees. An intranet can also be used for
working in groups and teleconferences. Intranets encourage
communication within an organization.

 Intranets are used for training and information sharing

 Improved communications and document control, mean that best

practice and training can be more effectively shared with those that
need to know it, through written documents or even audio or video
files.
INTERNET AND LAN

 Intranet uses a local area network (LAN), a computer network that

interconnects the computers of the different members of the
intranet, where they hold office.

 Internet is a communication protocol for worldwide network (WAN =

Wide Area Network). … Ethernet is a communication protocol for
Local Area Network (LAN) using same media interfaces (mainly RJ45
or fiber). LAN are independent networks but may be linked within a
WAN through Internet devices such as Routers.
