FABRICATION OFGENEVA CONVEYOR WITH PIN PUNCH

SYNOPSIS

The main aim of our project is to fabricate a pin punching machine where
the conveyor is controlled with the Geneva mechanism. The Geneva
drive or Maltese cross is a gear mechanism that translates a
continuous rotation into an intermittent rotary motion. The rotating drive wheel has
a pin that reaches into a slot of the driven wheel advancing it by one step. The
drive wheel also has a raised circular blocking disc that locks the driven wheel in
position between steps. This principle is used in our project so that the punching
action can be done at the intermittent time. The manual work involved in this
project is very negligible. This is fully automated such that the workpiece is
automatically moved in the Geneva conveyor and the punching is done
pneumatically.

ADVANTAGES

 Manual work is less.

 Simple in construction.
 Easy to fabricate.
 No need of skilled labours to operate the machine.
 Continuous operation is achieved.
 Highly suitable for mass production.

APPLICATIONS
 In industries.
 Small scale workshops.
 Home based business.
 All manufacturing industries.
