Introduction Rationale of the study Music its a combination of sounds in accordance to speed with a lick of rhythm creating a pleasant

melody to our ears thats my own definition of music. But for my brother his definition of music is combination of hard as rock rhythm every beat pounds my chest and cant stay long listen to it. Some of us today especially us college students because we have vacant classes we students spend a lot listen to this music and some of us get inspirations through it and some they serve it as their motivation to live there every day life Theres a saying that what you listen is a reflection of your personality but how if theres a conflict with your genre what if they dont like what you listen to and you dont like what do they listen to. What they mostly prefer genre of music and what is behind with this genre why they want.

Statement of the problem In this study we have to solve sub problems that might help solve the main problems namely what is the most preferred genre do they listen the study entitled The Student Music Preference: The Genre of Music from BSIT-1 Perspective this study sought to answer the following questions. What music genre do the BSIT-1 students prefer to listen to? What are their reasons for choosing their type of music? What are the implications of the result to the music industry? `

Significance of the study In a study there should be benefited just like composing music you should dedicate it to someone for them to patronize your creation so this study will benefit the following. The BSIT-1 Students for there are the main respondents of this study The Other Music Lovers for this is related to music so this study may help them y The Music Writers for them to understand there peoples need when it come to music y The Music Producers for them to choose what music genre is in demand for them to produce more.
