Artificial Intelligence in Augmentation

Human augmentation:
Augmenting human capabilities in perception of

environment, motion, interaction with other Humans.

Integration of robotic and information systems with

human perception.

Augmentation
Flexibility of

physical interaction skill and task adaptation

Function as regular part of human body.

Amputation
Removal of an external body part. Causes: Vascular disease Breakdown of peripheral vascular

structures
Cancer Bone tumor or soft-tissue tumor
Infection Nerve damage

Augmentation in Limb Prosthesis

Light and flexible.
Its move, powered by small motors or by movement of

wearers muscle.
Myoelectric signals - increases the range of motion

and degree of freedom for an individual fitted with a prosthetic limb.

Characteristics of Artificial Limb

Proprioceptive Sensors
Movement - Effectors Energy - source of power

Working Principle

Devices are made out of plastic or metal compounds.

Controlled by system of wires.

The signal to open or close is made by the presence or

absence of small electrical charges in the muscles of the

arm as it contracts.

Myoelectric arm is derived from the electrical energy in

the muscle.
People who suffer from accidents or diseases, which result

in loss of limb, would qualify to use this technology.

It is a choice people could make to eliminate widespread

scarring or paralyzing injuries.

Benefits
Patients experience a benefits like independent,

active, participatory.
The most supportive will be the boost of self-esteem.

Future
It will rely on the growing and attachment of human nerves. Resistant to cuts, burns and fractures and more durable than

human extremity.
The limb will be complete with twenty degrees of freedom and

will be controlled by human brain.

This will make life easier on the recipient of the device, not

having to strap it on everyday, and take it off at night .
