Temple Hills Man Charged with Eleven Burglaries in Howard County

Howard County police have charged a Temple Hills man for eleven burglaries throughout the county, including Columbia, Ellicott City and Elkridge. Lamar Ali Carroll, 37, of 4211 28th Avenue in Temple Hills, Maryland, was charged Friday, March 2 in Howard County with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary and theft charges. Carroll was initially arrested last Tuesday, Feb. 28, after Howard County Police observed him committing a possible burglary in Montgomery County. Through investigation, police had identified Carroll as a suspect in multiple Howard County burglaries and were conducting surveillance on him at the time. Carroll was arrested by Montgomery County police following a brief vehicle pursuit involving Montgomery County, Howard County and Maryland State Police. Carroll was charged by Montgomery County Police and is currently being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center on $75,000 bond. On Friday, he was also charged by Howard County Police and received a no bond status at the Howard County Detention Center. Carrolls arrest closes the following Howard County cases: A Jan. 4 burglary in the 8800 block of Shining Oceans Way in Columbia A Jan. 4 burglary in the 10400 block of Swift Stream Place in Columbia Two Jan. 5 burglaries in the 6800 block of Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge A Jan. 5 burglary in the 5600 block of Columbia Road in Columbia A Jan. 5 burglary in the 5400 block of Columbia Road in Columbia A Jan. 5 burglary in the 4900 block of Columbia Road in Columbia A Jan. 5 burglary in the 4900 block of Dorsey Hall Drive in Columbia Three Jan. 17 burglaries in the 10300 block of Swift Stream Place in Columbia The total value of property stolen in these cases is estimated to be approximately $40,000. Police are working with other local jurisdictions to see if Carroll may be a possible suspect in other burglaries. ###
