Bengt Jangfeldt is a Professor of Literature and best-selling writer in Sweden. He is the author of several books on Russian literature, and has twice been awarded the August (Strindberg) Prize, the Sweedish equivalent of the Booker Prize. His forthcoming biography of Raoul Wallenberg (Wahlström & Widstrand, June 2012) is timed with the worldwide commemoration of the centennial of Wallenberg's birth.
A Swedish architect, businessman, and diplomat, Raoul Wallenberg (1912-1947) is widely celebrated for his successful mission to rescue tens of thousands of Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary. He has become one of the most widely known rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust.
