Background:
USMCadoptedExtremeColdWeatherClothingSystem (ECWCS)in1985toreplaceKoreanWareraCold Weather(EW)Clothing.Overthelast20yearsUSMC madeperiodiclowriskproductchangestoimprove materialperformanceofselectedlayerswithonlyminor designchanges.Recentconflictshaveidentifiedneeds toprovideourMarineswithbetterSystemized equipmentandclothing.

Issues:
Maintainingshadestandardswillbecritical.Shade testingrequirementshavebeenincludedinthe solicitationandspectralreflectancevaluesareincluded inthesalientcharacteristics.Allproposalsreceivedwill betestedtoensureconformancewithshadestandards.
