1. Introduction

The purpose of this document is to present the system of methodology of Termination of Main
DC Cables in the Inverter and the safety precautions that must be observed while performing
the scope of works in GIGASOL3 PROJECT.

1.1 SCOPE

The scope focuses from crimping of terminal lugs, testing and checking of cables and termina-
tion on the designated terminal inside the inverter...

1.2 Project Background


The GIGASOL 3 Project is the installation & construction of grid-connected, ground-
mounted 63 MWp DC Solar Farm Facility Solar Photovoltaic (PV) located at Barangay.
Salaza and Cauyan, Palauig, Zambales, Philippines.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

2.1 Project Manager

a. The Project Manager the overall responsible for the project in terms of work execution,
safety, planning & quality.
b. The Project Manager will maintain the planning progress and coordination of works
with the main contractor.
c. The work progress shall be carried out as per planned program and all the equipment’s
required to execute the works shall be available and in good condition as per project
planned.
d. Specific attention is paid to all safety measures and quality control in coordination with
Safety Manager, QA/QC Engineer and in line with PQP

2.2 Construction Manager

a. The Construction Manager is responsible to supervise and control work on site.


Coordinating with QA/QC Engineer, Site Engineer, and site team for all activities on site.

2.3 Site Engineer

a. The Method Statement to the system shall be implemented according to the Owner
Engineers project specification and approved IFC drawings.
b. Provision of all necessary information and distribution of responsibilities to his con-
struction team.
c. The work progress shall be monitored in accordance with the planned work programs
and he will provide report to his superiors.
d. The constant coordination with the safety Manager ensure that the works carried out
in safe atmosphere.
e. The constant coordination with the QA/QC engineer for any to be carried out an initi-
ate for the inspection for the finished works.
f. He will ensure the implementation of any request that might be raised by the Owner
Engineers.

g. The Method Statement to the system shall be implemented according to the Owner
Engineers project specification and approved IFC drawings.

h. Provision of all necessary information and distribution of responsibilities to his con-


struction team.
i. The work progress shall be monitored in accordance with the planned work programs
and he will provide report to his superiors.
j. The constant coordination with the safety Manager ensure that the works carried out
in safe atmosphere.
k. The constant coordination with the QA/QC engineer for any to be carried out an initi-
ate for the inspection for the finished works.
l. He will ensure the implementation of any request that might be raised by the Owner
Engineers.
m. Efficient daily progress shall be obtained for all the equipment and manpower.
n. The Site Supervisor shall be directly involved in the planning and execution of the ac-
tivities involved in the excavation. He shall be responsible for the preparation of exca-
vation plan, Safety Action Plan and Job Safe Analysis (JSA). Safe work plan application
for work permits is required prior to commence of any excavation. Supervisor to de-
velop a JSA on a weekly basis and update is necessary when conditions change.

2.4 QA/QC Engineer

a. Monitor executions of works at site and should as per the approved IFC Drawings and
Project Specifications.
b. Ensure RFI with supporting documents (i.e ITP, WMS, IFC Drawing etc) are being raised
for activities in timely manner and inspected by the Owner Engineers.
c. Check an ensure that all activities / work done / completed prior to offer for Owner
Engineers.
d. Follow and carried out all the relevant test as per project specifications.
e. Obtain the required clearance prior to Owner Engineers.
f. Coordinate with construction team.
g. Assist the Owner Engineer during inspection.

2.5 Site Supervisor

a. Carrying-out of work and the proper distribution of all the available resources in coordi-
nation with the Site Engineer on a daily basis.
b. Daily reports of the works achieved and coordinated with the site engineer.
c. Incorporate all the QA/QC and Safety requirements as requested by the concerned En-
gineer.

d. Meeting with any type of foreseen incident or requirements and reporting the same to
the site Engineer immediately.

2.6 Safety Manager/Supervisor

a. Shall review prior to the start of the work, Safe Work Plan and Work permit is re-
quired.
b. Implementation of all safety measures in accordance with the HSE plan and that the
c. whole work force is aware of its proper implementation.
d. Implement safety measures adequate to maintain a safe working environment on the
work activity.
e. Inspection of all the site activities and training personnel in accident prevention and its
proper reporting to the Project Manager / Construction Manager.
f. The site maintained in clean and tidy manner.
g. Ensure only trained persons shall operate the power tools.
h. Ensure all concerned personnel shall use PPE as required.
i. Ensure high risk elevated areas are provided barricade, tape, safety nets.
j. Ensure safe access to site work at al times.
k. The site maintained in clean and tidy manner.

3. Safety & Security

a. Safety work permit requirement is mandatory. All personnel involved in the activi-
ties shall wear complete personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with
the safe work requirements. Safety Officer shall verify that all the necessary and ap-
plicable documents are at hand and give orientation related to the safe operation
prior to commencement of the job.
b. If the weather condition turns bad (Storm or heavy rains), there should be immedi-
ate coordination with Safety Department and Construction Team for stopping of
works.
c. Water, shelter and other necessary measures should be provided to support work-
ers while working under the sun.

4. Work Sequence and Methodology

a. Check all materials delivered to site is inspected properly by QA/QC Engineer and
check if it is stored properly as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

b. RFI shall be raised for the inspection of materials received at site.


c. Work shall be carried out by the site staff under strict supervision and guidance of the
concerned (Engineers, Supervisor).
d. QA/QC Engineer shall check all the installations as per the Installation Checklist.
e. RFI shall be prepared by QA/QC Engineer and will be submitted to Owner Engineers
and arrange inspection for their inspection and approval.
f. QA/QC Engineer is responsible for all installation activities for getting work inspected
and approved by Owner Engineer.
g. Protect the cables from stress (i.e ensure they are not trapped or rodden on) during
cable pulling and installation as well as during storage prior to installation.
h. Installation of MC4 connectors for the homerun cables.
i. Keep the connectors
j. Review the latest approved drawing of DC Trenching and Wiring Plan. Once validated,

m. Crimp the terminal lugs on the cables and conduct IR, PV, Loop checking.

p. Termination and IR test the cables on the incoming DC terminals.


q. All DC cables are to be labelled at both ends.
r. All DC cables will be tested and logged on test sheet.

6. Inspection

Inspection shall be based on approved ITP, QC Plan and Project Specifications listed in under
Technical Specification or as stated on the latest IFC drawing.

7. Safety

a. Complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) composed of hard hat, safety glass, safety
gloves and safety shoes.
b. Proper housekeeping at the end of the day is a part of the mandatory tasks assigned to
workers to avoid accidents due to littered tools and materials.
c. Flagmen will be engaged to control the movement of trailers, cranes, pumps and other mo-
bile equipment.
d. Daily tool box talk will be conducted and brief safety measures will be discussed.
e. First aid facility must be available the entire period in the work site.
f. Employee should report any change/s in the condition of work site to his immediate supe-
rior.
g. Safety personnel must ensure compliance of all workmen to Safety Regulations of this
project.
