Body Language

Body language is the unspoken or nonverbal communication that goes on in every face-to face encounter with another human being. It tells you their true feeling towards you and how well your words are being received. It is commonly known that between 50-70% of our message is communicated through our body language.

Body language is more than body positions and movements. Body language is not just about how we hold and move our bodies.

Body language includes the followingHow we position our bodies Our facial expressions Our eyes especially and how our eyes move and focus Our breathing, and other less noticeable physical effects

Eyes- our eyes are a very significant aspect of

the non-verbal signals we send to others. To a lesser or greater extant, we all read peoples eyes without knowing how or why, this ability seems to be inborn.

Mouth- The mouth is associated with very

many body language signals, which is not surprising
.

The mouth is tremendously flexible and expressive part of the body too, performing a central role in facial expressions.

Arms

& Hands-

Arms act as defensive barriers when across the body, and conversely indicate feeling of openness and security when in open positions, especially combined with open palms. Body language involving hands is extensive. This is because hands are a very expressive part of the body.

Legs

and Feet-The body language of

legs and feet is more difficult to control consciously or fake than body language of arms hand and face.
